Late last week Hasbro, producers of the classic board game Monopoly, announced that the thimble token will no longer be included with newer versions of the game. The decision was made based off a public vote conducted last month and is part of a planned revamp of the game. The vote featured a total of sixty-four tokens, including all those currently part of the standard set, with the promise that no token would be safe from removal. With the results of the poll set to be announced on World Monopoly Day (19/03/2017) only time will tell whether other classic tokens will meet a similar fate.

“…The thimble gave it it’s best, but it’s time for a change. Check back here on March 19th, World Monopoly Day, to find out which others got the boot and who’s new to the game!…”
