Games Workshop’s new standalone tactical arena game Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire is shaping up quite well.
Recently they announced a new undead themed faction for the game called the “Sepulchral Guard”
These Sepulchral Guard are the former warriors of the city of Shadespire. Unlike many of the mindless shambling automata of the Mortal Realms’ undead legions, these once-proud warriors retain shards of their memories from before the cursing of their city, and each is a unique individual in their own right.
In game, this warband will have numbers on their side against most opponents, but will find themselves lacking in massive damage output or resilience. Rather than being a simple horde style faction however, they Sepulchral Guard will instead focus on smart tactics and lots of little tricks to get the upper hand.
The new faction will also be sporting some pretty great looking new miniatures as well. Featuring the same clip-together style as other factions for this game, the amount of detail in what amounts to a simple skeleton army is quite striking.
We know loads of you Death fans have been patient as the grave waiting for new miniatures since the Age of Sigmar began, and these guys don’t disappoint. The new models match the scale of our current Deathrattle range, and they’ll look just as great striding to battle in those vast legions as they will slaying interlopers in the cursed city of Shadespire.
Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire is set to release later this year.
